JANI SIEVINEN'S SWIMMING CAMP IN PUNKAHARJU MON 24TH - WED 26TH JUNE 2024

Since 2019, the Naaranlahti Tourism Estate has been organizing an event named Finland's clearest swimrun, with up to 140 participants at its peak.

The enthusiastic feedback from participants about swimming in the clear waters inspired Hänninen to devise new services, this time with Jani Sievinen.

Sievinen has been sharing coaching expertise since 1993. Nowadays, he coaches swimmers across Finland and internationally, including triathletes.

"Swimming in open waters is somewhat different from pool swimming. You have to navigate and consider the waves – it has its own nuances," says Sievinen.

During the three-day course on Lake Puruvesi, Sievinen will guide four different groups: children learning to swim, proficient child swimmers, fitness swimmers, and swimrun enthusiasts and triathletes.

"When you want to learn to swim properly, it's good to seek practical knowledge from someone who already masters the technique. Once you learn the technique, swimming becomes a completely different sport," Sievinen adds.

Course Details:

• Group 1: 11:00-11:30 Non-swimmer children (max. 8 children). The group is intended for those aged 5 and older.
• Group 2: 11:45-12:30 Children/youth who can float, glide, dive, and swim crawl for at least 5 meters (max. 10 children).
• Group 3: 16:00-16:45 Adult swimming enthusiasts looking to improve their freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke techniques (max. 10 people).
• Group 4: 17:00-17:45 Adult swimrun/triathlon enthusiasts (max. 10 people).

Equipment:

Swimming goggles. Wetsuit recommended. Non-swimmer children should have arm floats.

Prices and Registration:

Until May 1, 2024, spots are available for guests staying at the Naaranlahti Tourism Estate. After this date, any available spots will be open for general sale.

Pricing from March 22 to May 1, 2024:

Course prices as listed below will be discounted by 15% for guests staying in rooms, apartments, or cottages at the Naaranlahti Tourism Estate. When booking accommodation and indicating participation in the swimming camp in the additional information section, you will receive a code to reserve your spot at the camp at the discounted rate.

Example prices for accommodation (including breakfast) and the camp for adults:

Camp fee -15% €105/person + 2-person room for 2 nights €190/room. Camp fee -15% €105/person + 4-person apartment for 2 nights €300/apartment.

Group 1: €90/person Group 2: €110/person Group 3: €124/person Group 4: €124/person

Prices include instruction, VAT, and possible boat transportation if instruction is provided elsewhere than at the Naaranlahti Tourism Estate's home shore. Children's instruction at the sauna shore of the Naaranlahti Tourism Estate. Adult instruction on Lake Puruvesi either near the Naaranlahti Tourism Estate's home shore or elsewhere in the nearby area.

The camp will take place if there are a minimum of 20 participants registered by May 1. If the camp is canceled by May 1 due to low participant numbers, registration and accommodation fees paid by that date will be refunded.
